CZ Highlights Crypto Market Challenges

Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) shared insights on the cryptocurrency industry, emphasizing that only a small percentage of participants will find long-term success.

CZ’s remarks came in response to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by crypto influencer EmperorBTC, who discussed the psychological dynamics of market participants. According to EmperorBTC, “The bar for success in crypto is very low,” suggesting that most investors struggle with the volatile nature of the market.

EmperorBTC estimated that 80% of crypto investors are merely “tourists,” entering and exiting the market based on sentiment shifts. Another 10% make trades influenced by deceptive sources, while 5% misunderstand wealth projection, leaving just 5% who genuinely grasp crypto fundamentals.

CZ noted that even among this 5%, many fail to outperform Bitcoin, stating, “Even if there were a 5% who were true experts in crypto, most of them still wouldn’t be able to outperform Bitcoin.” He pointed out that only 4% of this group actively trades or invests in blockchain projects but still lag behind Bitcoin’s performance.

He concluded that simply holding Bitcoin surpasses the returns of 99% of crypto market players and outperforms many traditional asset classes with little effort. However, achieving a position in the top 1% of crypto investors demands extraordinary effort, profound market insight, and relentless commitment.
