Harris Discusses Crypto and AI at Fundraiser
Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for President in the upcoming November election, has recently addressed the crypto industry at a Wall Street fundraiser. She emphasized incorporating AI and crypto into her vision of an ‘opportunity economy.’
“To build that opportunity economy, I will bring together labor, small business, founders and innovators and major companies. We will partner together to invest in America’s competitiveness and future. We will encourage innovative technologies like AI and digital assets while protecting consumers and investors. We will create a safe business environment with consistent and transparent rules of the road,” stated Harris, according to Bloomberg reporter Jennifer Epstein, who attended the fundraiser.
The Manhattan event was dubbed the last chance to see Harris in New York before the election, with ticket prices ranging from $500 to $1 million, aimed at bolstering her financial edge over Donald Trump. Notable attendees included celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Whoopi Goldberg, and Billy Porter.
Additionally, Reuters reported that Harris intends to unveil new economic policies this week aimed at helping Americans build wealth and incentivizing businesses to support that goal, although specific details were limited.
Following Harris’s debate with Trump, her election odds have improved, with her leading in four out of six swing states according to Polymarket, which currently gives her a 52% chance of winning, compared to Trump’s 47%.
Trump has also made moves towards the crypto industry, visiting a Bitcoin-themed bar in NYC and announcing details about his family’s World Liberty Financial project, which has received mixed reactions in the crypto community.
