President Trump Targets Undocumented Immigrants’ Access to Social Security
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump signed a memorandum designed to prevent undocumented immigrants and other ineligible individuals from accessing benefits under the Social Security Act, according to the White House.
While some undocumented workers manage to secure employment using fake or borrowed Social Security numbers and contribute to the Social Security system, current laws disqualify them from receiving benefits.
