Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.71% to hit a new 52-week low.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were:
NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN): rose 3.03% or 13.80 points to trade at 468.85 at the close.
Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT): added 2.95% or 1.32 points to end at 46.07.
PIK (MCX:PIKK): was up 2.67% or 16.60 points to 638.30 in late trade.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO (MCX:CBOM): fell 4.31% or 0.25 points to trade at 5.61 at the close.
Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR): declined 2.79% or 32.20 points to end at 1,120.00.
AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS): down 2.74% or 0.42 points to 14.75.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 130 to 112, with 11 ending unchanged.

Shares in Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO and AFK Sistema fell to 52-week lows.

Market Indicators

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 7.28% to 38.71.

  • Gold Futures for December delivery: down 0.11% or 2.80 to $2,524.80 a troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for October delivery: fell 4.53% or 3.33 to hit $70.22 a barrel.
  • Brent oil for November: fell 0.01% to trade at $73.71 a barrel.

Exchange Rates:
USD/RUB was up 0.88% to 87.86.
EUR/RUB rose 0.89% to 97.05.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 101.69.
