U.Today – Ripple CTO David Schwartz Responds to Craig Wright's Claims
Ripple CTO David Schwartz recently reacted to a post on X by Craig Wright, who claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto and has faced widespread criticism.
Background on Craig Wright
Craig Wright has been involved in legal battles regarding his assertion as the creator of Bitcoin since 2016. He faced a pivotal loss in the U.K. High Court regarding his claim to be Satoshi and is now targeting Bitcoin Core developers with a legal action seeking £911,050,000,000. Wright argues that BTC is misrepresented, claiming Bitcoin SV (BSV) is the true Bitcoin.
Wright's Comments on Partnerships
In his recent post, Wright discussed the implications of suing a partnership, explaining that in the absence of all partners’ responses, the court may solely focus on the active partner. He asserted that Bitcoin Core operates under joint and several liabilities, though a reply from another user stated that Bitcoin Core isn’t a legally recognized partnership.
David Schwartz's Response
David Schwartz responded to Wright’s argument by stating that it could be valid if it targeted all Bitcoin holders, suggesting that tokens could represent shares in a partnership and thus involve revenue sharing based on token holdings. He pointed out, however, that even this interpretation is a stretch.
