Portugal Stock Market Update

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities, and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 1.27%.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the PSI were:

– EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR): added 3.37% or 0.36 points to end at 11.03.
– EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP): up 3.16% or 0.11 points to 3.42 in late trade.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
– Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT): fell 1.83% or 0.34 points to trade at 18.21 at the close.
– CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT): declined 0.11% or 0.01 points to end at 4.37.
– Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT): was 0.00% or 0.00 points at 8.23.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 10 and 2 ended unchanged.

Commodities Update

• Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.19% or 0.14 to $72.42 a barrel.
• Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.15% or 0.10 to hit $68.53 a barrel.
• The December Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 6.65 to trade at $2,579.85 a troy ounce.

Currency Update

• EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.06.
• EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
• The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.50.
