Polkadot's New Initiative: The Eagle JAM

Investing.com – Polkadot is launching a new initiative, codenamed The Eagle JAM, aimed at establishing a presence in the U.S. market through collaboration between its BizDev and DevRel teams.

Team Structure

Known as “the Treasury” and “the Troops,” these teams will work in tandem:
BizDev will focus on partnerships and resources.
DevRel will provide technical engagement and support for developers.

Funding and Infrastructure

The Eagle JAM initiative is securing funds from the Polkadot Treasury for a comprehensive U.S. expansion plan. Central to this strategy are “JAM Toasters,” specialized hardware that operate as blockchain validators and collators. These machines will be integral to Polkadot's U.S. infrastructure, tasked with generating staking and validator rewards that will support BizDev and DevRel projects.

BizDev Focus

BizDev's primary goal is to lay a financial foundation and identify crucial opportunities in the U.S. market. This includes building connections with American businesses, Web3 startups, and leading tech institutions to position Polkadot as a top choice for interoperable blockchain solutions.

DevRel Engagement

On the other hand, the DevRel team aims to foster a robust technical community to support Polkadot’s ecosystem. Plans include:
– Developing educational materials
– Organizing hackathons and workshops
– Offering hands-on support for U.S.-based developers

Core-Time Mercantile Strategy

A significant aspect of this initiative is the Core-Time Mercantile strategy, designed to buy and sell JAM core-time as required. This strategy permits dynamic resource allocation to new chains in response to demand, optimizing computational power and costs.

Milestones

The Eagle JAM initiative spans across four quarters, with distinct milestones:
Q1: Conduct market research, identify key partners, and establish core BizDev and DevRel teams.
Q2: Focus on developer engagement through events, infrastructure expansion with more JAM Toasters, and onboarding kits for U.S. developers.
Q3: Expand enterprise outreach and partnerships.
Q4: Concentrate on scalability and optimizing resources to establish a self-sustaining infrastructure for Polkadot’s U.S. growth.
