Norway Stock Market Overview

Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare Equipment & Services, Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences, and Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.29% to hit a new 1-month high.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were:
Var Energi ASA (OL:VAR): Up 5.10% (1.72 points) to trade at 35.42.
Aker BP ASA (OL:AKRBP): Up 4.18% (9.70 points) to end at 242.00.
Equinor ASA (OL:EQNR): Up 3.79% (10.30 points) to 282.05 in late trade.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
TGS NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS): Down 4.48% (4.50 points) to trade at 96.00.
Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NAS): Down 4.14% (0.52 points) to end at 12.06.
Nel ASA (OL:NEL): Down 3.58% (0.17 points) to 4.52.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 159 to 131, with 21 ending unchanged.

Commodities Update

  • Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.83% (1.28) to $71.11 per barrel.
  • Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.69% (1.24) to hit $74.80 per barrel.
  • December Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% (18.60) to trade at $2,671.70 a troy ounce.
