Netflix Reports Viewership for Boxing Match

(Reuters) – Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) announced that 60 million households worldwide tuned in for the highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, peaking at 65 million streams.

The bout, featuring 27-year-old Paul and 58-year-old former heavyweight champion Tyson, was streamed live on Netflix, with Paul winning.

Nearly 50 million households watched the co-main event between Ireland's lightweight champion Katie Taylor and Puerto Rico's featherweight champion Amanda Serrano, marking it as potentially the most-watched professional women's sporting event in US history.

Despite over 90,000 users reporting streaming issues at the peak, the platform was restored after a roughly 6-hour outage in the United States.

(This story has been corrected to state 60 million, not 50 million, in the headline.)
