Mexico Stock Market Overview

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services, and Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 2.17%.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were:
Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) rose 3.61% (+4.20 points) to trade at 118.26.
Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA) added 2.61% (+1.80 points) to end at 70.47.
Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) was up 2.09% (+3.76 points) to 182.98 in late trade.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) fell 3.46% (-1.94 points) to trade at 53.91.
Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) declined 2.21% (-8.20 points) to end at 361.43.
Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) was down 1.73% (-3.57 points) to 201.45.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 111 to 107, with 8 ending unchanged.

Shares in Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) fell to 52-week lows, losing 3.46% (-1.94) to 53.91.

Commodities Market

  • Gold Futures for December delivery fell 0.95% (-24.40) to $2,535.90 a troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.98% (-2.26) to hit $73.65 a barrel.
  • The November Brent oil contract fell 2.18% (-1.72) to trade at $77.10 a barrel.

Currency Exchange Rates

  • EUR/MXN fell 0.89% to 21.79.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 101.67.
