Mexico Stock Market Update

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors led shares down.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.27%.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were:
Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA): rose 2.85% or 0.68 points to trade at 24.50.
Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q): added 2.76% or 4.59 points to end at 170.94.
Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA): up 1.89% or 6.31 points to 340.01 in late trade.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA): fell 3.05% or 1.37 points to trade at 43.51.
Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO): declined 1.71% or 0.75 points to end at 43.19.
Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO): down 1.49% or 2.05 points to 135.76.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 108 to 68, and 12 ended unchanged.

Commodities Update

  • Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.20% or 5.30 to $2,633.50 a troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.33% or 0.92 to hit $70.16 a barrel.
  • The March Brent oil contract rose 1.24% or 0.90 to trade at $73.22 a barrel.

Currency Update

  • USD/MXN was unchanged 0.01% to 20.17.
  • EUR/MXN fell 0.06% to 20.97.
  • The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 108.00.
