Meta AI Expansion
(Reuters) – Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) announced on Wednesday that its artificial intelligence chatbot, Meta AI, will be launched in 21 new markets to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Technology companies are striving to attract users to their AI chatbots by introducing new features and enhancing accessibility with language support.
Currently boasting nearly 500 million monthly active users, Meta AI will become available in the UK, Brazil, and various countries across Latin America and Asia starting Wednesday, according to the social media company.
The chatbot will support multiple languages, including Arabic, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese. After the gradual rollout, the company stated that the chatbot will be accessible in 43 countries and a dozen languages, aiming to become the most used AI assistant by the end of 2024.
However, this latest expansion does not include the new character voices for the AI chatbot that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced during the company's annual Connect conference, as they are set to be rolled out on a separate timeline.
Additionally, Meta AI will also be available on Ray-Ban Meta glasses in the UK and Australia.
