Meta Partners with Lightstorm Vision for 3D Entertainment

(Reuters) – Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) announced on Thursday a partnership with film director James Cameron's technology venture, Lightstorm Vision, to enhance the creation of 3D entertainment. This includes live sports, concerts, and TV series for the Meta Quest headset.

The Quest headset will serve as Lightstorm Vision's exclusive mixed reality hardware platform, reinforcing Meta's investment in its mixed-reality division after spending billions on augmented reality and metaverse technologies.

In September, Meta introduced a more affordable version of its Quest headset. The company plans to collaborate with Lightstorm to reduce production costs involved in creating 3D content.
