Eli Lilly’s $4.5 Billion Investment

(Reuters) – U.S. drugmaker Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY) announced on Wednesday its plan to invest $4.5 billion to establish a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development in Indiana.

The center, named Lilly Medicine Foundry, will concentrate on researching innovative medicine production methods and scaling up manufacturing for medicines utilized in clinical trials by the company.

Lilly confirmed that the facility will be situated in Lebanon, Indiana, and is expected to open in late 2027.

This new investment increases Lilly’s total capital commitment in the United States to over $23 billion since 2020.
