U.Today – Samson Mow’s Insights on Bitcoin’s Mysterious Creator

Samson Mow, an early Bitcoiner and CEO at JAN3 and Pixelmatic, recently shared his thoughts on the theory linking Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, to China’s intelligence service.

Mow’s Presence in China During Bitcoin’s Creation

Reported by U.Today, hedge fund manager Kyle Bass recently tweeted that he believes Satoshi Nakamoto, and Bitcoin itself, to be a product of the Chinese intelligence service.

While debating a Bitcoin enthusiast, Bass suggested that the creation of Bitcoin by Satoshi was an effort by China to undermine the U.S. economic leadership and the U.S. dollar.

China has had a complicated relationship with cryptocurrency, banning ICOs in 2017 and expanding restrictions on trading and mining by 2021. In recent years, the country has been testing its own central bank digital currency, initially called DCEP, now known as e-yuan.

In a social media post on X, Mow shared insights from 2009, the year of Bitcoin’s inception. He mentioned running the largest Bitcoin exchange in China before joining Blockstream, the company founded by cryptographer Adam Back, who corresponded with Satoshi during Bitcoin’s development. Mow expressed amusement at being referred to as “the former colleague of Adam Back” by creators of an upcoming HBO documentary about Satoshi.

Mow Reflects on Satoshi’s Possible Connections to China

In a recent post, Mow highlighted a detail suggesting Satoshi’s possible connection to China. He noted that the Chinese spelling of Satoshi Nakamoto starts with a character that resembles the first character in the spelling of “China,” stating, “It just can’t be coincidence.”
