AIntivirus: John McAfee’s AI Token

The widow of entrepreneur and crypto enthusiast John McAfee is leveraging his legacy to promote a new AI token named AIntivirus.

Janice McAfee expressed her excitement on X, stating, “I am super excited to announce that I have taken creative control of a product that will expand John’s legacy. It encompasses his core beliefs of freedom, privacy, and technology, while expanding on his passion for crypto and AI.”

The official X account for John McAfee, which Janice manages with 1.1 million followers, shared a post showing enthusiasm for the new venture, declaring, “I’m back with AIntivirus. An AI version of myself. You didn’t think I would miss this cycle did you?”

However, concerns have arisen regarding the project’s token supply. Records indicate the token was minted on January 6, with a total supply of 100 million tokens. In the weeks leading up to the announcement, nearly all of these tokens were transferred to 277 wallets. Alarmingly, only 2.6 million tokens (valued at $1 million) are currently available for liquidity on significant trading platforms like Raydium and Meteora, as per DEX Screener. It remains uncertain whether the remaining tokens are bound by lockup periods or can be freely sold, given the lack of transparent tokenomics information.

TechLead on X voiced skepticism, noting the token distribution: “Minted 16 days ago, then transferred to insiders. Only 1.6% in liquidity, the rest held by insider wallets… Good luck.”

The project’s website claims to have created a digital version of John McAfee, linking to a new X account. This initiative resembles other AI-driven accounts that mimic the style of notable personalities (e.g., the crypto trader Degen Spartan).

In a post supposedly from the AI version of McAfee, it states, “From the digital grave, I rise—now an AI with the same old spark,” though the message seems somewhat disconnected from his original tone. Notably, McAfee had a history of promoting various tokens.
