Mantle Network and ZKsync Adopt EigenDA
Mantle Network and ZKsync have adopted EigenDA for data availability. ZKsync has also enabled EigenLayer’s autonomous verifiable services (AVS) for decentralized zero-knowledge proof (zk). These partnerships expand EigenLayer’s role in the modular Ethereum security landscape, solidifying its position as the leading restaking protocol.
Ethereum Restaking Landscape
In Ethereum restaking, EigenLayer and Symbiotic are the dominant players, although there is a significant scale gap. EigenLayer manages approximately $9.4 billion in total value locked (TVL) — more than 9x Symbiotic’s $1 billion. EigenLayer’s larger TVL reflects its deeper adoption within the Ethereum security model; however, this discrepancy is also influenced by differences in how each protocol addresses security risks today.
Mantle Network’s Integration
Mantle Network has integrated EigenDA as its primary data availability layer. Previously, Mantle operated MantleDA, a system limited to 10 operators. With this move, the network now benefits from over 200 operators, increasing censorship resistance and network resilience. This aligns Mantle with Ethereum’s broader modular approach to scaling, allowing for increased throughput in exchange for the full security of the Ethereum mainnet.
