Polymarket punters are betting on whether someone farted immediately after Donald Trump’s crypto speech at the 2025 Digital Asset Summit.

The market, which revolves around an “audible fart” during the summit, currently has a volume nearing $185,000. Bettors believe they heard a fart during today’s Blockworks livestream at timestamp 2:38:10.

One user claimed, “I’m an acoustic specialist, and the sound in question is a fart, beyond reasonable doubt.”

Another stated, “I’ll definitely join the discord to sue Polymarket on this one, that was a 101% fart, give me my $35.”

The alleged toot occurred moments after Trump’s pre-recorded speech concluded. His address reinforced the US’s pro-crypto stance without any new announcements, such as the anticipated zero tax on crypto capital gains reported by multiple crypto accounts.

Can Polymarket Prove a Fart?

Polymarket claims it will resolve to “Yes” if the audible fart is clearly captured on event livestreams or official recordings. However, it remains unclear how Polymarket will verify this, as while the audio at 2:38:10 resembles a fart, it might also be the sound of a chair scraping or something rubbing against leather.

In fact, the two panelists presenting immediately after the controversial timestamp were seated on leather chairs, potentially causing the noise.

Current odds for an audible fart are quite low, despite bettors’ sentiments. Polymarket’s resolution system has faced issues previously, such as the cancellation of another market that relied on unreliable data from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
