Aston Martin’s AMR25 Racing Car Debuts with Coinbase Partnership
On February 12, Aston Martin Aramco’s AMR25 racing car took its first breaths. While the car’s full look will be revealed on the 18th, it has been confirmed that Coinbase will grace its rear wing.
Aston Martin’s Formula One team has signed Coinbase as its Official Crypto Partner for an undisclosed sum, paid entirely in USDC stablecoins. The upcoming AMR25 racing car, set to be revealed in the coming weeks, will display Coinbase’s logo on its halo and rear-wing end plate. Drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will also wear the logo on their racing suits.
> “This is a huge milestone for Coinbase… we are excited to embrace an industry that equally values pushing the boundaries with transformative ideas and technology,” said Gary Sun, Coinbase’s marketing vice president.
As part of the partnership, Aston Martin Aramco will explore bringing fan engagement opportunities onchain, potentially introducing new fan experiences built on Base, Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer 2 network.
With this partnership, Coinbase enters a competitive space against rival exchange Crypto.com, which has a longstanding relationship with Formula One since 2021. Crypto.com recently extended its partnership until 2030, continuing to sponsor the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix and working on exclusive fan experiences and activations at various Grands Prix.
