Brazil Stock Market Review
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumption, Real Estate, and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.40%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were:
– CPFL Energia SA (BVMF:CPFE3): rose 3.74% or 1.23 points to trade at 34.09 at the close.
– Dexco SA (BVMF:DXCO3): added 3.01% or 0.24 points to end at 8.21.
– Engie Brasil Energia SA (BVMF:EGIE3): was up 2.31% or 1.02 points to 45.16 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Pet Center Comercio e Participacoes (BVMF:PETZ3): fell 5.81% or 0.30 points to trade at 4.86 at the close.
– Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3): declined 5.66% or 0.73 points to end at 12.16.
– Azzas 2154 SA (BVMF:AZZA3): was down 3.39% or 1.72 points to 49.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 604 to 325 and 61 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.07% to 26.90.
Commodity Prices
- Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.98% or 25.00 to $2,535.30 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.10% or 2.35 to hit $73.56 a barrel.
- The December US coffee C contract fell 1.70% or 4.22 to trade at $243.38.
Currency Exchange
- USD/BRL was down 0.15% to 5.62.
- EUR/BRL unchanged 0.04% to 6.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 101.64.
