Brazil Stock Market Overview

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, with losses in the Real Estate, Basic Materials, and Industrials sectors leading shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.21%.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were:
Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4): +6.06% or 0.34 points to trade at 5.95.
SLC Agricola SA (BVMF:SLCE3): +5.84% or 1.03 points to end at 18.66.
Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3): +5.45% or 0.48 points to 9.28 in late trade.

Worst Performers

The worst performers included:
CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3): -4.03% or 0.29 points to close at 6.91.
Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3): -3.71% or 1.86 points to end at 48.27.
Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:USIM5): -2.19% or 0.14 points to 6.24.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 528 to 399, with 62 ending unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility, measuring the implied volatility of Bovespa options, rose 0.22% to 27.47.

Commodities Overview

  • Gold Futures for December delivery fell 0.76% or 20.45 to $2,674.45 per troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for November delivery rose 1.36% or 0.92 to hit $68.59 a barrel.
  • December US coffee C contract fell 1.61% or 4.42 to trade at $269.48.

Currency Exchange Rates

  • USD/BRL was unchanged at 5.43.
  • EUR/BRL fell 0.28% to 6.07.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 100.12.
