Toyota Motor Company Production Decline
TOKYO (Reuters) – Toyota Motor (NYSE:TM) experienced an 11% drop in global production in August, marking a seventh consecutive month of decline. This downturn was influenced by several factors, including a typhoon and a certification scandal in Japan, as well as a temporary halt in the production of two sport utility vehicles in the United States.
Production for August decreased to 709,571 vehicles, with output in its home market plunging 22%.
