Mexico Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 1.37%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were:
– Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES): up 5.07% or 13.33 points, trading at 276.39.
– Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO): added 2.60% or 0.32 points, ending at 12.65.
– Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA): up 2.55% or 0.35 points, closing at 14.09.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA): fell 5.25% or 3.68 points, trading at 66.43.
– Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO): declined 4.43% or 0.39 points, ending at 8.41.
– Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO): down 4.09% or 1.91 points, closing at 44.76.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange 115 to 108, with 19 unchanged.
Commodities Update
- Gold Futures for December delivery: up 1.25% or 32.60 to $2,647.20 a troy ounce.
- Crude Oil for November delivery: rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $71.25 a barrel.
- Brent Oil for November: fell 0.23% or 0.17 to trade at $74.71 a barrel.
Currency Update
- USD/MXN was up 0.59% to 19.41.
- EUR/MXN rose 0.48% to 21.67.
- US Dollar Index Futures: up 0.13% at 100.45.
