Brawl at Argentine Parliamentary Session
Argentinian politicians clashed during a parliamentary session addressing President Javier Milei’s LIBRA scandal, which ended abruptly before an impeachment vote could occur.
Local media reports indicate that the fight began between Lisandro Almirón of the ruling La Libertad party and Oscar Zago of the Integration and Development Movement. Almirón reportedly heckled Zago, calling him a traitor, which led to Zago throwing punches. Deputy Rocío Bonacci of the UNITE party also became involved, throwing a glass of water at Lilia Lemoin from La Libertad as tensions escalated.
Opposition leader Maximiliano Ferraro has called for an investigation into the incident, accusing members of Le Libertad of attempting to “coerce” and “intimidate” fellow members to vacate their seats and disrupt the quorum needed for the proceedings.

According to the Buenos Aires Herald, the session aimed to debate several bills related to Milei’s LIBRA scandal, including the establishment of a commission to investigate the issue and initiate impeachment proceedings. The session was about to vote on the proposal for the impeachment commission just before the altercation occurred, which led to the session being concluded by House of Representatives Speaker Martín Menem.
Prosecutors had already begun investigations into Milei and his associates, including LIBRA co-creator Hayden Davis, following a lawsuit initiated last February. Lawyers have also requested that courts seek an Interpol red notice for Hayden Davis, which could result in his arrest and extradition.
