SEC Drops Case Against Coinbase: Investors Shift to Cardano (ADA)

The surprise move by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to drop its case against Coinbase has caused investors to focus on Cardano (ADA). This is significant, as the SEC had previously classified ADA as an unregistered security, along with at least 12 other digital assets in its lawsuit against Coinbase.

The sudden change comes with the formation of the Crypto Task Force, which aims to establish a clear framework for the industry. This could signal a shift towards a more structured – and potentially more favorable – approach to crypto regulation under Acting Chairman Mark T. Uyeda.

ADA’s Price: Mixed Signals

Cardano (ADA) is currently trading at $0.7265, reflecting a 1% decline over the past 24 hours. The cryptocurrency reached a daily high of $0.7615, recovering from a low of $0.7112.

The Bollinger Bands indicate that ADA is hugging the middle band ($0.7754), suggesting moderate volatility. If it breaks through the $0.7754 resistance, it could test the upper band at $1.0315. Conversely, a drop below $0.7112 may lead towards the lower band of $0.5193.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) currently sits at 46.08, indicating ADA is neither overbought nor oversold, remaining in neutral territory. Should ADA surpass $0.7754, it could rally to $0.85–$1.00 in the short term. However, failure to maintain support at $0.7112 may lead to a retracement towards $0.65–$0.60.

US Crypto Reserve: A Potential Wildcard

In another development, US President Donald Trump has issued an executive order to create a US Crypto Reserve that will include Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Cardano (ADA), XRP, and Solana (SOL).

Looking ahead, data from Polymarket indicates a 70% chance of approval for a spot Cardano exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the US, which could result in major inflows for the digital asset.
