Russia Stock Market Update

Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Power, and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 1.09%.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were:
Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) rose 0.63% or 3.80 points to trade at 611.60.
Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) added 0.26% or 1.60 points to end at 607.40.
Polyus PAO (MCX:PLZL) was up 0.03% or 3.50 points to 12,952.50.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) fell 7.01% or 1.29 points to trade at 17.12.
ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 4.89% or 2.68 points to end at 52.13.
GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO (MCX:GMKN) was down 4.68% or 5.50 points to 112.90.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 182 to 64, with 4 ending unchanged.

Shares in ALROSA ao and GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO fell to 5-year lows.

Market Indicators

  • The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.05% to 34.71.
  • Gold Futures for December delivery increased by 0.19% or 4.80 to $2,560.00 a troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for delivery in October fell by 2.14% or 1.66 to $75.76 a barrel.
  • November Brent oil contract rose by 0.08% or 0.06 to $78.97 a barrel.
  • USD/RUB remained unchanged at 91.50, while EUR/RUB was unchanged at 102.33.
  • The US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.28% at 100.46.
