Portugal Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services, and Technology sectors led shares downwards.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.99%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the PSI were:
– Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT): rose 1.74% or 0.29 points to trade at 16.95.
– Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO): added 0.74% or 0.01 points to end at 0.96.
– Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS): was up 0.56% or 0.04 points to 7.24 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP): fell 4.12% or 0.78 points to trade at 18.04.
– Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP): declined 2.24% or 0.01 points to end at 0.41.
– Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS): down 1.79% or 0.09 points to 4.83.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 9, with 9 ending unchanged.
Commodities Update
- Brent oil for November delivery was down 4.36% or 3.38 to $74.14 a barrel.
- Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.74% or 2.75 to $70.80 a barrel.
- December Gold Futures contract decreased 0.34% or 8.65 to trade at $2,518.95 a troy ounce.
Currency Update
- EUR/USD was unchanged up 0.28% to 1.10.
- EUR/GBP was also unchanged, up 0.06% to 0.84.
- The US Dollar Index Futures increased 0.14% to 101.76.
