Pump.fun Launches Mobile App for Memecoins

The Solana memecoin launchpad Pump.fun unveiled a mobile app supporting iOS and Android devices on Friday.

The launch allows users to buy, sell, and create coins for free from their mobile device. Additionally, Pump.fun users can create watchlists and manage their digital portfolio directly in the app, as announced on X (formerly Twitter).

However, the mobile app will not be available to residents in the UK. In December 2024, the UK’s financial regulator, Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), warned users against using Pump.fun, advising them to “beware of scams,” since the platform may not be operating or providing financial services with the FCA’s permission.

Pump.fun has also faced legal troubles in the United States, with two law firms suing the platform for intellectual property infringement and another case alleging violations of securities laws.

Despite these legal and regulatory challenges, Pump.fun remains one of the most popular platforms for launching memecoins, recording a high daily fee volume of $15.5 million just a year after its launch, and $7.61 million on February 13, according to The Block’s Data Dashboard.
