Pyth Network Introduces Lazer: A New Oracle Solution
Pyth Network has launched a new oracle solution called Lazer, designed to complement Pyth Core and target latency-sensitive trading applications and exchanges.
Key Features of Lazer
- Ultra-Low-Latency Price Feeds: Lazer can provide price updates as quickly as one millisecond, enabling DeFi protocols to conduct real-time market analysis and operations.
- Cost Efficiency: The solution aims to reduce compute costs in blockchain environments, allowing it to handle high-throughput activities, such as supporting 20 price feeds simultaneously on Solana.
- Cross-Chain Operation: Lazer will work across various blockchain environments, including the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and Solana Virtual Machine (SVM), with plans to expand to additional blockchains.
- Extensive Data Support: It can support up to 1,000 price feeds and provides detailed information, including bid-ask prices and market depth.
Unique Data Sourcing
Unlike traditional oracles which depend on third-party data sources, Pyth sources its data from first-party publishers, such as leading exchanges and market makers. Recently, it partnered with Revolut, a well-known fintech company, which has joined the network as a data publisher for various assets.
