Bitcoin Nears Record High

(Reuters) – Bitcoin was trading near a record high of $80,000 on Sunday, having reached this milestone earlier in the session. This surge follows Donald Trump's decisive victory in the U.S. presidential election earlier in the week.

Bitcoin, the world's largest and most recognized cryptocurrency, has risen by 65.4% from its year's low of $38,505 recorded on January 23.

Trump has pledged to make the United States "the crypto capital of the planet."
