FAA Increases Oversight as Boeing Resumes 737 MAX Production
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced on Thursday that it will enhance oversight as Boeing prepares to resume 737 MAX production after a 53-day strike that concluded earlier this week.
FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker spoke with Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg and emphasized the need for Boeing to utilize its safety risk management system during the production restart. The agency highlighted its ongoing enhanced presence at Boeing factories during the strike and plans to intensify oversight as the company implements its return-to-work plan. As of now, Boeing has not disclosed when it will resume production.
