Shares in Air Canada, MDA Ltd, and Fairfax Financial reached 52-week and all-time highs respectively.
The S&P/TSX 60 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, rose 2.53% to 12.17, marking a new 1-month high.
