Mexico Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, driven down by losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.02%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were:
- Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q): rose 4.26% (5.81 points) to trade at 142.12.
- GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC): added 4.15% (6.65 points) to end at 166.71.
- Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO): up 3.14% (1.33 points) to 43.68.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
- Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO): fell 8.86% (0.82 points) to trade at 8.43.
- Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX): declined 3.54% (2.09 points) to end at 57.03.
- Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB): down 2.84% (3.84 points) to 131.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 138 to 86, with 11 ending unchanged.
Commodities
Gold Futures for December delivery rose 0.43% (11.90) to $2,760.80 a troy ounce. Crude oil for December rose 2.09% (1.46) to $71.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.12% (1.58) to trade at $75.96 a barrel.
Currency Exchange
- USD/MXN was up 0.98% to 19.99.
- EUR/MXN rose 0.58% to 21.58.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 104.20.
