Tesla Launches Powerwall in Japan

TOKYO (Reuters) – Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) will start selling its Powerwall home battery system in Japan through the electronics store chain Yamada Denki, according to a report by the Nikkei business daily on Wednesday.

The report indicates that the electric vehicle giant aims to accelerate the distribution of its home battery system in Japan by partnering with Yamada Holdings, the operator of the chain, which boasts around 1,000 stores nationwide.

Neither Tesla nor Yamada Holdings could be reached for immediate comment.
