Honeywell Signs Deal with Google for AI Integration
(Reuters) – Honeywell (NASDAQ:HON) has signed a deal with Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) to connect artificial intelligence technology with its industrial data, aiming to streamline autonomous operations for its customers.
The partnership will combine Google's Gemini, its most advanced AI technology, with Honeywell's industrial data from its Forge platform, aimed at automating tasks and shortening project timelines amidst a labor shortage in the industry.
AI-powered tools will assist engineers, warehouse workers, and technicians, with the first solutions expected to reach Honeywell's customers in 2025.
Vimal Kapur, chairman and CEO of Honeywell, stated, "The path to autonomy requires assets working harder, people working smarter, and processes working more efficiently."
With an AI agent built on Google's Vertex (NASDAQ:VRTX) AI platform, Honeywell plans to reduce project design cycles while enabling users to process various data types like images, videos, text, and sensor readings.
Honeywell aims to leverage the surge in AI technology to lower maintenance costs, boost operational productivity, and upskill employees for its customers.
